Ashland has always been known as a place where families like to settle, but in the past few years, so many family friendly attractions have been born. As part of our Love Where You Live Campaign, we hope to inspire your future family fun nights!
Central Park
Central Park gives families over 47-acres to love. Recently renovated and reimagined to be inclusive of all abilities, Central Park Playgrounds are awaiting family fun! But there is something for everyone- tennis courts, a baseball field, volleyball courts, and even a large pond with fountains so you can capture the views Ashland has to offer.
Oliverio Park
Commonly referred to as “Water Works”, due to the adjacent City of Ashland Water Plant, Oliverio Park is situated on several acres with a newly-built, all-inclusive playground. Oliverio Park is also home to two Little League fields- you may get lucky and catch a game or two!
Central Bark
Situated in South Ashland, Central Bark is the City’s dog park. Families can make a day of fun by taking their furry companion to play in a large, fenced-in dog area. Right next to the dog park is a new playground area for the kids. This area includes a half basketball court with goals, and a large area with swingsets!
Riverfront Park
Riverfront Park is a hidden gem in downtown Ashland. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, or a show at the Paramount and walk down 15th Street to the riverfront! Fishing, watching barges cruise the river, or using the new park swings to watch the sunset, Riverfront Park is a MUST VISIT. Grab some frozen custard from Whit’s while you’re downtown- it’s delicious!
Highlands Museum
The Highlands Museum & Clark Family Discovery Center is integral to the uptick in visitors downtown Ashland has been seeing. Stop by the Country Music Heritage Hall, read about Ashland’s River Expedition, or check out the new Clark Family Discovery Center- an entire floor for kids to explore, learn, and play. Parking is available for FREE in the city parking garage behind the museum.
Malibu Jacks
Malibu Jacks is a prime destination for a family fun day! Indoor go-karting, arcade games, bowling, and putt putt are just some of the fun things Malibu Jacks has to offer. Grab a bite to eat from one of the many nearby restaurants, like Backyard Pizza, and finish off the evening with Whit’s Frozen Custard, located in the food court adjacent to Malibu Jack’s!
