Where is Central Park in Ashland, KY

Central Park consists of forty-seven acres and was sold to the City of Ashland in 1900 by the Kentucky Iron Coal and Manufacturing Company for the sum of $32,500. Until August 1923, the primary activity in the park was a horse racing track.

The park is located between 17th and 22nd Streets and Central and Lexington Avenues.

The Central Park Dog Park is a fenced in play area for both large and small dogs designed for dogs to run freely and socialize with other dogs. Located on the corner of Bath Ave and 22nd Street across from the KDMC Heart and Vascular Center.

The dog park also has doggy amenities, water and waste stations and people amenities, benches and pleasant scenery.

Pet Friendly Informational Guidelines:

- All dogs are required to be on a leash at all times, dogs are not allowed off leash on any athletic field or other public areas.
- Not allowing pets to play and walk on common area landscaping.
- Owner is responsible for picking up after pet, please take all waste home for disposal.
- Please follow all city ordinances regarding pets.
-Dog owners are responsible for any injuries caused by their dog(s).

There are over 2 1/2 miles of beautiful wilderness hiking trails right in the heart of our great City of Ashland, KY. There is parking on Ashland Avenue near the trail heads, as well as, on Hilton Avenue near a trail head. It is also only a 1/4 mile walk from Central Park. Please come and visit one of Ashland's wonderful hidden treasures, only steps away from Central Park.
