The Lake Vesuvius Recreation Area is the Wayne National Forest's premier developed recreation site and is named after the historic Vesuvius Iron Furnace. The rugged hills and out-cropping cliffs provide a scenic backdrop for this historical and beautiful site.

It contains a 143-acre lake, two family campgrounds and one group campground, beach and swim area, multiple picnic areas, fishing, boating, hiking, scenic overlook and an archery trail. This recreation area is home to the 46-mile Lake Vesuvius Horse Trail System, open April 15-Dec. 15.

Recreation area is located at 6518 OH-93, Pedro, OH 45659, just a 20 minute drive from downtown Ashland, KY.

 

Kenova Pumpkin House

The centerpiece of the Ceredo-Kenova Autumn Fest is the famous Pumpkin House, which has become one of the favorite tourist attractions of West Virginia. In 1978, the Pumpkin House began with only 5 pumpkins carved for a Halloween display. Since then, the number of hand-carved pumpkins has grown to 3,000. Each year Ceredo and Kenova welcome nearly 30,000 visitors to the Pumpkin House.
